PAUL LE TOCQ has serious concerns for the future of badminton – if nothing is done to sort out the local senior game. In two weeks’ time, Le Tocq steps down as the island’s development coach.

‘The Guernsey Badminton Association are at a crossroads and it’s a bit of a worrying one,’ said the 26-year-old. ‘I fear for them. If they stand still, they will struggle.

‘But I can’t see why they can’t move forward. It’s not in a bad state but it’s on a little bit of a knife-edge. We’ve come a long way, but if they don’t do anything it will fall apart. It’s a big problem and they don’t quite grasp it.’
