A LITTLE light rain was not going to deter more than 600 children from scouring Saumarez Park for Easter eggs yesterday morning.
The support for the 13th annual fund-raiser for the Anthony Nolan Trust pleased Debbie Osborne, the treasurer of the Guernsey Friends of the trust. ‘I think it’s been as good as last year when the weather was better,’ she said.
She hoped that it would raise more than £2,000. Those taking part paid £2.50 for a collection bag and went in search of some 3,500 coloured plastic eggs. Most were found within about 30 minutes. Eggs could be exchanged for various chocolate prizes and finders of 24 clear eggs with chicks inside were rewarded with full-size Easter eggs.
