SOPHIE PLATTS continues to finish in the higher reaches of the fleets of future Olympians and stars of the sailing world out in New Zealand.

On day three of the Laser Radial Youth World Championships in Auckland, the Ladies’ College student  had her best day yet, placing 20th in the opening race and 16th in the second.

In shifty NE winds of 12 to 18 knots, the Guernsey star, who is part of the five-strong GB junior women team,  rounded the windward mark in the top 10 of each race.
