FOUR men in their 70s are facing eviction from their States residential homes.
Bernie Domaille, 70, David Bougourd, 73, Walter de Carteret, 73, and Gerald Bisson, 72, all live in Maison Le Clement, the flats which adjoin Maison Maritaine.
They have been sent letters after alleged nuisance behaviour incidents and have been told they face the possibility of losing their home. One of the letters claimed that Mr Bisson had come home intoxicated in the early hours, been abusive to staff, put food on to cook and fell asleep, which caused the room to fill with smoke.
‘I’ve never come back from the pub incapable,’ said Mr Bisson. ‘It’s absolute rubbish. We don’t cause harassment at all. The others just go straight to bed and sleep it off and we don’t cause a nuisance. The letters are just going over the top.’

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Why do we feel that we need to provide heavily subsidised housing and benefits to a bunch of losers who abuse the system. Guernsey needs to take a very, very long look at itself and realise that people are abusing the system. If you get a massive hand out from the States then you have a duty to respect others and abide by your tenancy agreement. Get a life and stop scrounging

I agree totally.
If you NEED to claim off the states then so be it.
But if you have no reason to apart from being LAZY then you shouldnt be allowed any benefits at all.
In France a single mother will get benefit for the 1st child she has. Anymore children and they wont pay out. Such a good rule which will stop these lazy young mums for claiming just because they couldnt be bothered to work when they left school. There is NO reason not to have a job in Guernsey theres so many jobs available here. The thing is they know they will be looked after with or without a job!
I know some single mums that are getting more money a week then me inc doc dentist bills the lot!and I work in finance. Its terrible how they can get away with it. and the sad thing is the majority dont save any money thats given to them in order to afford theyre own place!
Life is tough for everyone saving and buying a house etc but look how many people have successfully done this. I am so proud of my parents for working all these years for their house etc. Why cant people just except this is life. They are to scared to try and think they are the only people with problems in their lives when infact they are not!
So try and then later you will respect yourself more and the people around you..
