Savings club agent escapes jail.

A CHRISTMAS savings club agent who stole £2,480 from three friends has escaped jail.
Mother-of-six Susan Brehaut, 51, was told by assistant-Magistrate Philip Robey that he would have imprisoned her for six months if she had spent the money on anything other than essentials.
Instead he sentenced Brehaut, of Happy Landings, Le Bourg, Forest, to 160 hours’ community service. He also awarded compensation to each of the complainants named in the charges of theft.
The potential impact on her two youngest children was also considered by Mr Robey when he decided on the sentence.
Brehaut, who was an agent for Park Retail, stole the money during 2006.
