‘Get moving on Les Beaucamps’
Wednesday 23rd April 2008, 2:29PM BST.
LES Beaucamps Secondary School should be a top priority for States capital projects now that there is money to rebuild, according to the chief minister.
The States announced yesterday that it had a surplus of £70m. – nearly double what had been estimated when it decided to scrap corporation tax from January and introduce zero-10 tax reform.
Deputy Mike Torode said he would like to see the new States move forward with plans for the secondary school, which opened in 1959. ‘We have had a financially good year and I am optimistic that the new States will be able to get moving with capital projects. I hope that they will start with Les Beaucamps fairly quickly.’
