‘Prove you are business-friendly’
Saturday 26th April 2008, 9:30AM BST.
THE new States has been told it must show its support for business. With 19 new members, a degree of uncertainty surrounds their intentions over the economy and zero-10.
Guernsey International Business Association deputy chairman Paul Meader (pictured) said it wanted to see the House demonstrate its backing of business to show that it realised that every aspect of the island benefited from a strong and successful economy.
‘That understanding should feed through into business-friendly policies. That’s not to say that social issues are unimportant or to be overlooked. Business people are as keen as anyone to make sure that the island’s social fabric is strong and Guernsey retains its uniqueness as a place to visit and to live in.’

Perhaps Mr Meader and his friends should first prove they are Guernsey friendly.
