House-hunting? No, just visiting
Wednesday 30th April 2008, 2:29PM BST.
SIR MARK THATCHER has dismissed rumours he is house-hunting in Guernsey. The son of former prime minister Baroness Thatcher denied he was looking for a place to live, despite having coffee with Swoffers managing director Matthew Henry at the OGH yesterday morning.
‘I come here all the time because I have a lot of friends in Guernsey and I meet up with them regularly,’ he said. ‘In fact, I was here last week and I’ll be here next week as well.
‘I’ve known Matt for a long time and while I’m always interested in what’s going on, it would be wrong to say that I’m actively looking to buy a house.’ It was for the purpose of meeting friends rather than sightseeing that had brought him to Guernsey, said Sir Mark, 54.
