Gallienne wins record 16th Guernsey crown

TREVOR GALLIENNE is the Guernsey individual champion again after beating Robert Chapple jnr in the final. However, the latter did take the pairs title with Bob Chapple snr after having beaten Matt Ogier and Paul Dyer.
In an eventful night of bar billiards, aided by the games being relayed by a video camera to a wide screen TV set above the finals table, Gallienne (pictured) recaptured the individual title for a record 16th time.
The evening began with Gallienne beating Tom Olliver 13,610 to 4,200 to secure his place in the final. Chapple jnr, who has only played the game for less than two years, won his semi-final 10,760 to 6,750, after producing a break of 8,450 under pressure before touching up to take the match.
