STUDENTS from St Sampson’s Secondary School drummed to the beat in preparation for last night’s Liberated Youth Concert.
In a workshop, where Grammar School students also took part, the two groups learnt the message of reusing and recycling followed by a noisy session of drumming on plastic barrels, household piping and kitchen sinks.
Drama student Susanna Wilson, 15, said the workshop was a great way of encouraging children to get involved in music.
‘It’s really good,’ she said. ‘I like music but there are people who don’t and this is a great idea to encourage people into making music especially through the use of recycled objects.’
