Jersey U-16s 3, Guernsey U-16s 0.
JERSEY won the under-16 Muratti at Springfield 3-0 on Saturday thanks to clinical finishing by their captain and man of the match, James Hudson, with two first-half goals, and a second-half stunner by winger Aaron Young from 25 yards out.

The three goals emphasised the difference between the two teams, who in last season’s under-15 Star Trophy had drawn 3-3. This year, however, there was only one winner because, on the day, Jersey were by far the better team.

Despite a bright start by Guernsey, who drew two saves from keeper Scott Simpson in the opening two minutes, from the 10th minute onwards Jersey were always in control. Guernsey manager Paul Ockleford admitted as much afterwards.
