GUERNSEY’S 4 x 400m quartet are looking to repeat the magic of Rhodes tomorrow night at Foote’s Lane. In the first Fortis Golden Series meeting of the season, a full-strength Sarnian squad are part of the headline finale when they will go up against Wales and Scotland international teams and an England Select four.

The hosts also have the carrot of aiming for the Commonwealth Games standard time as they look to qualify for the first time to compete in Delhi in 2010.

Tom Druce, who ran a memorable final leg in that remarkable gold-medal-winning and record-breaking performance at the Island Games last summer having taken over the baton from Dale Garland, believes tomorrow could be a hugely significant night for local athletics.
