GREG GUILLE has rebuilt his racing car for this year’s French hill-climb season. The Guernseyman has competed for a number of years in the French National Championship.

And for the 2008 season he decided to give his Condor Ferries-sponsored ADR Sport 2 sports prototype machine a complete revision. The car is completely new from the driving seat backwards.

‘I found that with the car built to the English regulations, the French cars had an advantage that I was never going to overcome,’ said Guille. ‘I took a long, hard look at the French competition regulations and decided to convert the car to improve its performance against the opposition. I have acted as chief designer and project head for the work. This has meant that I have been able to control the design concept.’

Guille received help from Richard Vaudin at TURX Custom Workshop and ATEC Engineering’s Adrian Marsh. A new chassis was designed and grafted onto the remaining front section. A lighter and more powerful Suzuki 900cc engine replaced the BMW bike one. The original rear transmission system was changed for a stronger and more reliable ‘QUAIFE’ system.
