ALL was quiet on the western front over the Bank Holiday weekend.
‘There were no adverse reports to the police over the weekend, but we are monitoring in particular the issue of litter on the beach,’ said community sergeant Jane Henaghen.
She said just because there had not been any complaints, it was no reason for the police to stop being extra vigilant in the area. ‘We have to address what is important to the residents of Guernsey.’
Friday was the worst day for litter on the popular west coast beach and additional police patrols have been put on over school half-term holiday.
‘Officers are working evenings and we are concentrating on hot spots around the island where there could be anti-social behaviour,’ said Sergeant Henaghen.
