LAST week saw the talents of the College of FE’s hair and beauty students live on stage.

The annual hair and make-up show highlighted the students’ accomplishments from this year and the turn-out was massive.

Sixty models took to the catwalk at the Performing Arts Centre in front of a judging panel.

Guernsey Press reporter Zoe Ash was one of four judges .

‘The quality of all the classes was amazingly high, especially considering some of the students were still only in their first year,’ she said.

‘The themes given to the students were interpreted in incredibly varied ways, making it very difficult to judge, but there were a couple who really shone on the night.’

Education minister Deputy Carol Steere presented the awards and said the night had proved there is a wide range of talent in the island.

‘This evening demonstrates the wonderful things the College of FE does,’ she said.

‘I want to thank the tutors and students for their hard work. I can fully appreciate it. I am someone who likes to change her hair a lot and I’m really interested in make-up. It’s fantastic.’
