Seminar helps to strengthen Scottish ties
Thursday 29th May 2008, 2:30PM BST.
A RECENT seminar in Edinburgh has helped to cement the relationship between Guernsey and the UK’s second largest finance centre. GuernseyFinance and the Guernsey Investment Funds Association hosted a masterclass seminar in Edinburgh last September about demystifying funds in Guernsey.
Now representatives of the legal and accounting professions have held further meetings there. Seminars have also taken place in Manchester and Leeds.
‘Edinburgh is the second largest financial centre in the UK, after London, and the fifth largest in Europe,’ said Peter Franks (pictured), a partner at Ernst & Young. ‘Last year’s GIFA initiative strengthened the relationships firms and institutions in Guernsey have with Scottish professionals. It has paved the way for further business.’
The marketing trip was jointly coordinated by Ernst & Young, represented by partners Mr Franks and Graham Parrott, and Carey Olsen, represented by partner Advocate Ben Morgan.
