It’s good to share

MOBILE phone mast sharing in Guernsey is outstripping that in the UK and Jersey.
The Office of Utility Regulation has today published an update of its register of masts that shows there are 70 sites in the Bailiwick, up by eight from October.
But 32 are now shared, compared with 16 in October. Later this month the regulator will publish a report on the level of emissions from every mast site that was operational in April.
OUR director-general John Curran (pictured) said the register highlighted the fact that the requirement to share sites was working well. ‘Nearly half of all sites are now shared which is well ahead of that in the UK or Jersey,’ he said.
