JENNY FROOME, of Baubigny Riding School, said that nobody had been in touch with her about plans for a one-way system.
She had received one letter over the past two years and had tried to contact Environment minister Peter Sirett, but he had not returned her calls.
‘I am worried because I still don’t know if I’m going to get permission to go against the one-way system to take the horses to their fields. The department hasn’t asked about our needs, it has not asked for our insight and this is a very busy riding school,’ she said.
Environment said there were plans to install a raised pavement along Baubigny, including a contraflow for cyclists and horses. Those heading in the same direction as the traffic will remain on the road, but traffic in the opposite direction will be on the contraflow, allowing owners to lead or ride their horses to nearby fields.
