Health stands by ad system

HEALTH will not be reviewing its authorisation procedures for advertisements despite more than £800 having been spent on one that had to be scrapped.
The recruitment ad that appeared in the Jersey Evening Post on Thursday 29 May attempted to ‘poach’ nurses from there by damning its goods and service tax. It was placed in the newspaper without the knowledge or approval of either the board or, it is claimed, department senior management.
A spokesman for Health and Social Services said that it was not necessary to review the existing method of authorisation for adverts. ‘The department has a robust system. It is regrettable that, on this occasion, this advertisement slipped through the system in error,’ he said.
