CHRIS LAW is still waiting for that elusive top-five result. At the weekend at Croft-on-Tees race circuit, the young Sarnian had 13th and 15th finish positions in the Elf Renault Clio Championship.
‘On Saturday I had a terrible start and seemed to get left behind,’ said Law. ‘I battled hard and was overtaking well, but then got blocked constantly. Whatever I did, I couldn’t get by.
‘It didn’t stop me trying. I’ll just have to qualify better next weekend [in rounds 11 and 12] at Silverstone. I was very unfortunate on Sunday, too, as I got tagged on the first corner which started to spin me. Then I got smashed into and the front taken off the Clio.
‘I was able to restart. However, it seemed as though I was driving and pushing as the aero dynamics were shot. I was pleased with my efforts to get back to 15th, though.’
Meanwhile, Law has gained sponsorship from a local legal firm. ‘The Legis Group is delighted to be supporting Chris in this year’s Renault Clio Cup racing series,’ said managing director Stuart Platt-Ransom.
