IT WAS the Tim Ravenscroft show at Port Soif last night. The Hampshire academy and Guernsey star stroked a magnificent century to lay the foundations for Corinthians’ 56-run victory over St Pierre.

His captain, Dave Piesing, called it ‘a very good innings’ as the young opener struck 15 fours and a six in his 64-ball stay at the crease.

It took Ravenscroft just 51 deliveries to bring up his hundred and he eventually fell to his island manager Dave Hearse for 121. By all accounts, the batsman was understandably getting tired by that stage in the 19th over and was throwing the bat.

His contribution to Corinthians’ total is emphasised in the fact that he scored 103 runs more than the next best individual – his opening partner Will Thompson who shared in a stand worth 60.
