States IT probe kept under wraps
Friday 6th June 2008, 2:29PM BST.
THE findings of an internal review into the lack of security on the States election website will not be released in their entirety.
Chief Minister Lyndon Trott (pictured), when he was Treasury and Resources minister, promised at a media press conference about the matter on 17 March that an inquiry would be conducted and its findings published.
However, the chief executive of the States and the chief officer of the Treasury and Resources Department have decided instead to release just the recommendations contained within the report. These include appointing an IT security manager.
It was felt that publishing a full report of the internal review would touch on issues associated with the ongoing criminal investigation involving whistle-blower and IT expert Marcus Cicero.
