Galacticos complete superb hat-trick

GREMLIN Galacticos completed a wonderful treble with victories in the team straight and handicap knockouts complementing their earlier league success.

The achievement, which has been done only twice before, came after they beat La Villette Gremlins 6-2 and the Ex-Service Hot Butts 5-3 in the two remaining knockout finals.

A repeat of last season’s straight final saw La Villette unable to repeat their shock win as Adrian Lihou and Glenn Le Prevost forged a 3-1 lead for the Galacticos. Graham Peel kept La Villette in it by taking the fifth frame, but Paul Le Sauvage and Adam Shorto took the next two to keep their trophy hat-trick on course.

Playing against the First Division’s Hot Butts in the handicap final, Lihou made a fine 55 break to overcome a 42 deficit in beating Clint McGrath.
