THOUSANDS turned out for yesterday’s Guernsey Classic Vehicle Club’s show. Organisers estimated more than 5,000 went to Saumarez Park to see past, present and future classic vehicles.
Club member John Bichard, who is on the organising committee, said it had been the best show in the club’s history, bar the one to mark the 60th anniversary of Liberation.
‘We’ve done this 15 times now and this has got to be one of the best,’ he said. He put the success of the day down to the weather and public spirit.
‘The only reason this show has been such a success is thanks to all the people who have brought their vehicles and the members of the public who have come to see them.’
