In the most recent rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship on the street circuit in the south-west corner of France, Guernsey’s three-time world champion won the second race in the pouring rain.

The BWM driver had started in pole after having come eighth in the first race. It was his first victory of the year.

‘No one wants to go racing having to rely on getting pole only from the reverse grid, but there are weekends when you just have to do this and that was one of them,’ said Priaulx.

‘I am happy, I know everyone in BMW Team UK is happy and we can’t wait to get to Brno to see what that has in store for us.’
