Pollack and mackerel are Curry’s ideal ingredients

HEATH CURRY has won the Sark AC’s 16-hour all-night competition.

His winning catch was eight pollack, nine mackerel and two lesser-spotted dogfish for a total weight of 19-1-0 and 89.25 points. The event attracted 14 members, with nine finding fish. The total catch consisted of 27 pollack, 21 mackerel, one ballan wrasse, eight lesser-spotted dogfish, two garfish and one grey mullet.

Dave Brehaut was second with two lesser-spotted dogfish, three pollack, one mackerel and a 10-0-0 conger, for which the club awards a straight 30 points. The overall value of his catch was 72.

Liz Dewe was third with four mackerel, one pollack, one lesser-spotted dogfish and a 3-3-0 grey mullet for 8-6-0 and 61.5 points.

As a result of the match both Dewe and Glyn Williams retained their championship position as leader and runner-up respectively. The main beneficiary of the competition was winner Curry, who rose from eighth to third.
