TWO juniors were the heroes as Rovers edged out St Pierre in a tense Evening League Division One game at Port Soif last night.
Rovers, who knew that a win could send them to the top of the table, won the toss and batted first. It soon seemed like a bad decision when they were reduced to tatters at 41 for five.
Enter Rob Byrne and Robbie Le Corre. The two youngsters combined for a magnificent partnership of 90, batting well over half of the allotted 20 overs. Both reached well-deserved half centuries and a target that originally looked as though it would only be around a run-a-ball suddenly had become 147.
