ST SAMPSON’S powerhouse Jordan Gilvear and Ladies’ College’s Emily Trebert are this year’s sporting ‘Superstars’.
Foote’s Lane was the venue for the annual event sponsored by Investec and each of the senior schools provided two boys and two girls from Year 9 to compete in a variety of events, based on the hit 1970s TV show.
Both contests went down to the final event, the squat thrusts, and two points was the difference in each case.
The only record broken in the day was by eventual champion Trebert, who knocked two seconds off the cycling in winning her event.
Another standout performance came from Joe Wright, who came within four metres of beating the softball throw record, when his effort landed at just under 52m.
