Le Page looks back on 50 years

BISLEY of 2008 will be an extra special event for local shooter Alan Le Page. It will be the 50th consecutive year he has taken part in the annual world famous Imperial meeting.
Despite the magnificent milestone, Le Page (pictured) insists that this year will feel no different from all the others over the past half-century. ‘I don’t really see it [50 years] as any kind of big event. I am going to approach it in the same way that I approach every year,’ he said.
Le Page is certainly modest about his Bisley achievements that started all the way back in 1959, one however still stands out for all the wrong reasons. ‘I went as a novice back in 1959. It didn’t help that I was a bit intimidated by the occasion and in awe of Bisley.
‘The rifle I had was no use to me at all, so I didn’t do nearly as well as I should have done,’ he said.
