A LANDLORD’S attempt to claim ownership of parking spaces in Clifton Lane met with strong opposition yesterday in the Royal Court.

Ondrej Faborsky claims to own at least a twelfth of the lane and Arcade Steps, which he is applying to have made terre a l’amende.

People living in the lane and others who use it are outraged at the application which they claim will take away their rights. About 30 people attended the hearing, some of whom were called to provide details of their objections.

For Mr Faborsky, Advocate Mark Ferbrache said his client had already provided written notice that he would not attempt to stop people using the lane or deny work on the services in it.
