A FOUR-PERSON group skydive will raise money for burns victims. Many islanders have been treated at Salisbury District Hospital’s specialist burns unit and four locals will jump out of a plane at 12,000ft to raise money for Burns Unit Group Support.
Rachael Trelfer, Russell Bailey, Alison Hearne and Jenny Le Prevost will make the jump over St Brieuc airfield in France on Saturday 26 July.
Rob Le Page, who spent seven months in the unit after suffering 75% burns in a plane crash in 2004, is coordinating the effort with the charity.
‘It’s a brilliant unit,’ he said of Salisbury. ‘Since I came out, I have had to go back there every six weeks. The burns unit has more than 200 referrals from Guernsey each year. There are a lot of people who owe an awful lot to it.’
