Parfit smashes freestyle and backstroke records

TWO swimmers finished well inside the championship age group record in the 100m freestyle event of the NRG Series staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club.

The record of 1-04.42 set back in 1989 for 12/13 year-olds by Harriet Morgan was smashed by Lotte Parfit, who touched in a great time 1-02.73 closely followed by Cody Butcher who also finished inside the record in 1-03.94.

There was no stopping Parfit in the 100m backstroke event either as she also smashed Gail Strobridge’s record which stood at 1-10.75 to record 1-08.92, which was also the fastest time of the day from the girls.
