ANDY BROWN and Colin Druce, the top winners in the Quayside Marine and Leisure Bailiwick Bass Challenge, were duly honoured at the competition’s presentation meeting held at Les Rocquettes Hotel.

They each received a Maubrook Jewellers Salver, £400 and a rod. They also won the proceeds from the pools, £80 to Brown who won the shore section and £26 to Druce who topped the boat section with his 10-4-2 fish.

Brown is currently on an incredible winning streak in the Bass Open events. In 2006 he won the shore section competition with a 9-6-2 fish while in 2007 he won the Guernsey Bass Anglers Sportfishing Society’s shore section in their open with a 10-3-7 specimen. A win on this occasion with his 8-11-10 fish means he has completed a unique hat-trick.

The evening was compered by Bailiwick Bass Club president Daryl Butcher. He congratulated the winners and had special words of appreciation for the sponsors, who continued to support the annual event.
