SHOCK results were the order of the day as the Tostevin Triples resumed at Delancey Park following a suspension due to rain.

Peter Whales, Vale Rec’s latest ex-footballer to cross over to the bowls green at the Corbet Field, was involved in his second match win in his debut week in island competitions.

He led his team of fellow ex-footballers Matt Solway and Wes Baker, having been 7-2 up at the restart, to a fine 21-5 victory over the 2007 island champions of Don Ogier, Alan Gibson and Nigel Collins.

The teams found themselves on a one-handed mid rink, which caused play to be difficult for both teams, but the former adjusted better to the conditions and well deserved to come out on top.
