A VERY exciting open grand prix concluded the BSJA Guernsey Summer Show. The class is run over three rounds and after the second puissance style, one the top four horses was clear.
While Kannoko, ridden by Amelia Jeffery, put in a very brave performance, his inexperience was telling and he accumulated 12 faults in the jump-off. The remaining trio battled it out and it was the on-form Snaffles Purple Patch and Emma Dorey who managed to produce the tightest turns to save time and eventually come out on top.
Six competitors went through to the jump-off in the novice grand prix run over two rounds. JM Breezer, jumping fifth out of the six, was the only one clear up to that point, leaving Liberty needing a faster clear to win. And that is what happened.
