COBO are the 2008 Barclays Evening League Division One champions. The west coast outfit claimed the new look competition when they beat Corinthians last night at the KGV.

Technically three teams – Cobo, Corinthians and Rovers – could have been awarded the title going into the match. But Cobo made sure it was theirs when they comprehensively defeated their rivals by more than 100 runs

‘It’s nice to win the inaugural Twenty/20,’ said Cobo captain Stuart Le Prevost. ‘It was great to put 170 on the board. We were happy with that and then the boys bowled really well.’

Cobo’s big total of 176 from 20 overs was based on 40s from Le Prevost, Jeremy Frith and Kris Moherndl.
