POLICE have launched an initiative to tackle antisocial behaviour this summer. Sergeant Jane Henaghen said the idea was to pre-empt problems by focusing on areas where such behaviour often occurs.

‘We will be going to areas which have been identified as historically having higher rates of antisocial behaviour and criminal damage, with the intention of preventing it,’ she said.

The idea is to have a very visual police presence in these areas and develop contacts with the community. These will include the island’s parks, housing estates and the Bridge.
