Druce puts his body on the line

Friday 1st August 2008, 2:29PM BST.

0599296.jpgTOM DRUCE returns to the  Sportingbet Channel Islands Athletics Club men’s team tomorrow, despite concerns about a hamstring problem.

Druce (pictured), who missed the last match through injury, is prepared to give it a go and will  travel for the important penultimate Division Three match in Bedford.

However, the new Guernsey 600m record-holder may restrict himself to running the 800m in preference to his number-one event, the 400 metres.

The men need to improve on their result last time out when they finished last of the eight teams. It leaves them in a three-way tie at the bottom of the standings, with one more match after this weekend to decide which two will be relegated.

Commonwealth Youth Games-bound sprinter Hywel Robinson will make his Sportingbet CIAC debut and the inclusion of James Menhenitt will also be a major boost.
