THE new Sunday Soccer League board is hoping that closer integration with the Business League will enable a healthier future.
The three top positions in the organisation each have a new face, with the much-travelled striker Danny Felbabel the new president, James Darrington taking over as treasurer and Rod Hamon now involved in both social leagues as the new secretary.
It is this double involvement that Hamon hopes will lead to a more unified future for the two leagues, now that they are independent of the GFA structure.
‘We are going to work closely together with areas such as discipline, where a committee will be set up with two members from each league on it. Having a foot in both camps should make that unification easier,’ he said.
When asked about the outlook for the leagues, Hamon was extremely confident. ‘I think we have a very healthy future. Both leagues are really upbeat about it, and we are all going to put in 100% effort,’ he said.
