POLLUTION-WARNING signs at high-risk beaches are inadequate, according to one mother.

Gill Le Page took her children to Bordeaux yesterday and did not see the caution sign, which was placed by the slipway.

‘I didn’t see the sign because I went straight by the kiosk. My children are down on the beach now and I wasn’t aware that there could be pollution,’ she said.

‘There was a slight unpleasant smell but I didn’t think anything of it. Now I wonder if it might be related.’

She has only recently been visiting the bay because it less busy than others.
