VISITING boaters the Waite family said the sewage pollution was putting them off Guernsey.
Every summer Adrian and his wife, Kim, travel for three-and-a-quarter hours from Dartmouth on their boat, Avanti!
But they said that if the sewage-related problems continue, the island would lose its charm.
‘The sewage in the water is off-putting for tourists and its potential to harm marine life is concerning too,’ said Mr Waite.
The couple, who moor in the Victoria Marina, usually swim at Cobo.
‘We daren’t swim for fear of getting E-coli. It’s really a bit of a tragedy for the island,’ he said.
