GUERNSEY fell agonisingly short of third place yesterday in the European Under-15 Division One Championship.
In a rain-affected game, the Sarnians were just six runs away from causing a serious upset against the Netherlands after a thrilling run-chase at FB Fields in Jersey in the third/fourth play-off.
Another good bowling performance saw the Dutch kept down to 182 for five from their 45 overs as all the Sarnian attack produced decent figures.
Shortly after lunch, rain hit St Helier and Guernsey’s target was reduced to 155 from 38.
