FOR the second time this season the senior bike riders faced a team challenge event on the Vazon sands.
But a reduction in numbers at the latest Guernsey Motorcycle and Car Club event, meant there were only five members per team with each man riding in only four of the five heats.
After heat one the Richmond Rebels, led by Mike Clarke, held a slender lead over the Albecq All Stars, led by Anthony Bougourd.
From then, the All Stars gradually took over the lead as the Rebels were lucky in that Dave Cleal had a spare bike to lend to both Darren Clarke and Robert Teed, as theirs had suffered mechanical problems.
In the final heat, Bougourd allowed two of his team members to overtake him, ensuring that at least three of his riders gained maximum points, so allowing the All Stars to take the team win.
