GUERNSEY’S ongoing batting problems came to the surface again on Saturday and with it another inter-insular slipped out of their hands.
The senior island side seems incapable of stringing together partnerships, which in turn means it cannot set or chase any meaningful targets.
This was the case on its recent tour to the UK where they lost to Kenya, Sussex Academy and Sussex League XI.
And it was certainly the case in their defeat at the hands of Jersey at Grainville at the weekend.
After island captain Stuart Le Prevost had won the toss and decided to bat on a wicket that perhaps he should have fielded first on, Guernsey were bowled out for a miserly 119.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
The biggest scandal about this fixture was unless you knew somebody who went to watch – and there were a few, granted – the only media coverage of the result the following day was on CTV.
A disgrace! No result on the either radio station, nothing on this website until today. If you do previews for the game you owe it to the readers and listeners to provide them with at least a match result very soon afterwards.
BBC radio and television were there covering it but no idea whether/how often they gave out live score updates on the radio. Channel TV are showing highlights tonight.
