ANDY PRIAULX was given a hero’s welcome at his book signing on Saturday.
The three-times World Touring Car champion was greeted by a queue of people eager for him to sign his autobiography. The 400 copies in stock at the Press Shop in Smith Street sold out within two hours.
Mr Priaulx said he was honoured that so many people had made the effort to come out.
‘It’s been really nice and been a great response. It’s been an enjoyable day.
‘There’s been people from all walks of life, all age groups. I get something every time I come to do one of these.
‘I’m really proud to see so many people. It’s really humbling.’
He said that he felt it was the right time to write a book about his life, as he was the only driver to become a three-time world champion in consecutive years.
‘I would like people to be inspired by the book. It’s a really honest story of the process in becoming what I am today. I believe that it’s a good reflection of my life.
