BEN DAVIES, the motorcyclist who died in an accident on Friday evening, should have taken his test yesterday.
He had just completed rebuilding and restoring his trials bike for the roads and had booked to take his category A test.
Chris McClean, who employed Mr Davies at Venture Garage, said the St Peter’s business had been inundated with regulars offering their condolences since the 25-year-old died.
‘All the customers loved him, he was very helpful. He’d do anything for anyone, that’s just the way he was,’ said Mr McClean.
His off-road bike had been modified for road use.
‘He was an experienced rider, but didn’t have his larger bikes category licence,’ said Mr McClean yesterday.

It is with great sadness to learn of Ben’s passing. Words cannot express our sorrow for all the family, who have suffered such losses lately. We remember fondly when Ben was perhaps 5 yrs old and went on walks with us when we were visiting. We passed a pasture which of course had cows and my husband said to Ben, “cows are fertilizer factories” and Ben said “Factories are on granite not grass”. Another time as we were walking along a path with Ben and his grandparents, John and Marguerite Cross, John would throw pennies ahead of us and we would all be delighted as Ben would be be excited when he “found” the pennies. We have many fond memories of our times with the family.
