PATIENTS at a London hospital have been enjoying Guernsey flowers.
Jose Springs, research co-ordinator for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, visited Guernsey during Floral Guernsey.
The hospital specialises in rehabilitating adults with severe or complex neurological disabilities and the plants and flowers have a therapeutic quality, according to Miss Springs.
While at a Castel show she was given some plants by the Green Legacy Guernsey project.
‘I was delighted with the plants and was able to add them to the hospital garden,’ she said.
‘We use gardens and gardening as a leisure activity and for therapy.’
Now Guernsey chrysanthemums and wild flowers are thriving in a garden tended by patients suffering from Huntingdon’s.
