GUERNSEY’S Muratti preparations for 2009 will include an Easter tournament  – on their home patch.
Details have yet to be finalised for the four-team round robin, but the scheme is the idea of new Guernsey Football Association chairman Mark Le Tissier and is welcomed by island coach Steve Ogier.
‘I’m happy in that I’ve got something pre-Muratti, but we haven’t got anything competitively until then,’ said the island coach.
‘Hopefully, fingers crossed, all the squad will be here.’
Le Tissier – known as ‘Sticks’ by many – is happy enough, though.
‘I think it will be a fantastic build-up to the Muratti and the Island Games,’ he said in his first major media interview since succeeding Dave Nussbaumer as head of the GFA.
