A WOMAN is appealing for the return of her garden gate. Sophie Richards woke on Saturday and was amazed to find it had been stolen.
‘We heard some noise in the night, but didn’t think much of it. When we got up and saw it was gone, I was so surprised.’
Much of that surprise was due to the effort that she believes would have been needed to take the gate.
‘A van must have pulled up and they unscrewed the gate. It certainly isn’t something that you expect.’

I live in big bad New Zealand (and we get our share of crime here, make no mistake), but lately as a Donkey I’ve taken to checking up on news from the islands. It honestly leaves a warm glow inside to know that this lady, having lost her front gate, has made news headlines. Makes me realise what a truly special place Guernsey is, however frustrating it may have seemed when there.

Hang in there lady, you’ll get your gate back. Any news on the sewage crisis?
