BELS were obviously trying to make the most of Saturday’s sun as they needed extra time to kill off a determined St Peter at the Track.

Importantly, Micky Ogier’s side are through to the semi-finals of the Deloitte CI Champions League, in which they will face either Trinity or North, but the coach was understandably frustrated with the performance in their 2-1 victory.

‘We keep making it hard work for ourselves at the moment,’ said coach Ogier. ‘When we play the ball to feet, we are the best side in the Channel Islands, but we keep knocking it up in the air.

‘We showed a bit of character to come back from going a goal down and it will be good for their fitness that they had to play extra time. There were a few tired legs out there, but it will do them good.’
